Dolly
Dolly is a sweet little Pom that belongs to Mark's sister. I had originally wanted to take pics of the other family pet, Leon, the hedgehog, but also took some of Dolly, who wanted very badly to participate in the photo op. She looked so cute, I had to paint her. Enjoy! Jane

Mother and Son
This is a painting of my Grandson and his Mother taken from a photo while they were in Mexico for a Wedding. They are expecting another baby in early June. We are blessed to have our fourth grandchild on the way. We enjoy them so much!
After another snowfall her in Minnesota, we are very ready to get out of town for our vacation. Florida, here we come!

The White Hat
Another painting from a photo I nabbed off my step daughters' blog post. It was just so cute, I had to paint it. Such a happy and cheerful baby, and finally crawling, too.
It's raining here today. A great way to melt all that snow, but it means that Callie and I won't be getting out for our one mile walk today. Comcast is here also, to reinstall high speed internet. It's a long story, but we now have Direct TV, but couldn't get any other service to work properly in our area--thus back to Comcast for internet. Oh well.
Can't wait till vacation.

The Hubs
Yes, this is the hubs, Mr Musky, Markie, but he prefers just Mark. He asked if I would take a photo of him and Gene, his associate, for his website. This is the finished product. Although this photo is not technically painted, I did use several brushes to soften him up a bit. Anyway, it was kind of fun to try something a little different.
We are finally starting to warm up here in Minnesota. Sooooo excited for our upcoming vacation. Will keep posting, hopefully with new paintings throughout. Have a great day.

Baby Mari
I'd like to introduce Baby Mari, our second granddaughter. Such a sweetie, and very laid back. Totally the opposite of her sister. I painted Mari using Painter 11, which I just installed yesterday. It's supposed to perform better than Painter X, however, I'm not seeing yet. My Wacom tablet isn't performing the way it should either. I may have to reinstall.
Anyway, Mari is such a cutie and I love painting her.
I hope everyone is having a lovely day.

Copper
This is an image I painted of Copper. My new friend at Digital Whisper gave me a picture of her sweet pup in which to practice on.
We are finally starting to thaw here in Minnesota--will be in the mid 40's today. Let the flooding begin. Anyway, I'm ready for a little warmth and Greeeeeeeeeen.
Have a great day! Jane

Our Sweet Dog Callie
Today I finished a painting of our dog, Callie. I changed things up a bit and painted the entire thing in Photoshop CS5 using the new mixer brush tools. I have to admit that I have been putting this off-using the mixer brush tools, that is. But I recently received a new DVD from Fay Sirkis where she explains the use of these tools so well, I took the plunge and this is the result.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Sand Castle Builder
I think I said that my favorite thing to photograph and paint are my grandchildren. Well here is another that I recently completed. I, once again, tried to make this one more painterly and I think I succeeded.
We are finally starting to melt here in Minnesota. It's been a very cold, very snowy winter and I'm so glad it's getting closer to spring. We are expecting record flooding this year in our state, and we've personally had ice dam problems on our roof. We leave for our Florida vacation soon and I am so looking forward to bringing the camera and taking photos of something green. Now that I have a decent camera, I hope to take lots of photos of beautiful beaches, cottages and flora.
Again, thanks for looking.

Our Little Golfer
This is a painting of a photo of our grandson, Nathan, while he was in Mexico for a Wedding. At 20 months old, I think he's already turning into quite the little athelete. Such a happy little guy. I had the pleasure of babysitting him once a week until recently, and although I'll miss that special time with him, it really gave us a chance to bond. Couldn't have asked for more. Hope you enjoy this painting. I chose a more painterly look to this painting and I'm very happy with the way it turned out. As always, please feel free to comment, I'd love to hear from you.

My Beautiful Granddaughter
Well I guess I need to start somewhere, so tonight I will post a painting that I completed today of my beautiful, loving, sweet, prescious granddaughter, Myah. This past week I purchased my very first DSLR camera and made a point of taking lots of pics of the grand kids in the hopes of learning this sometimes complicated piece of equipment. And, although I have a great deal to learn, the joy of being able to capture all the wonderful expressions, while running around all over the place, made it worth the price of the purchase. So, this is my first posting and I'm pleased to be a part of this most wonderful world of blogging.
