More Fun

I'm continuing to experiment with several programs and plug-ins and really trying to push the envelope with my paintings.  I'm finding that a lot of pre and post processing is also necessary.  My newest toy is DAP.  If interested you can find them here.
This image was taken on a little back road just east of a little town called Stillwater.  We are fairly lucky that we still have fall color here.  Usually by this time, all the leaves are on the ground.
This is from a local cemetery.  Mark's mother is buried in the this cemetery.  It's quite a beautiful place.
I love this effect.  It's almost has a paint chip look to it.
As we get close to Halloween, I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!  BOO!

Experimentation

I've been experimenting with a newer version of Dynamic Auto Painter that has just become available.  I think I'm having some success and will post a few here.
This one is a Van Gogh Style. Thought is gave an interesting effect by distorting the shapes--very VanGogh like.
This one has a Monet look to it.  I'm liking this one a lot!
This is the same image, only in the LilyPond Style.  Pretty Cool!
This was the outside of a cute little Bed and Breakfast we stayed at while in DC.
Yet another Red Door!
As always, I love getting comments.  Hope everyone is having an awesome day!

Doors, Doors, and more Doors

Don't know why, but I've always had a fascination with doors~~front doors to be precise.
I love colorful doors~~green is nice!
Red Doors and really cool!
Blue Doors are beautiful, too!
I like fun, colorful row houses with really cool doors, too!
Red buildings are a favorite!  Can you tell?
Oh! and of course, I like french doors!

I'd love to hear from you.  I hope everyone is  having an awesome day!

This and That

We are now moving toward "past peak" and most of our leaves are on the ground, but I wanted to post some images now from several moments over the past few months.  It won't be long before I'll be trudging through the snow in an attempt to chronicle our winter months and will hopefully find something worth painting.
It's rather amazing that I now look at things differently with my eyes.  I can see color, light and shadows that might not have been obvious a few months ago.  The hubs has noticed this about me as well.  I seem to be taking more quality images and less of those that I end up sending to the recycle bin.
Being able to manipulate these images with the various programs I now have has really made my art all the more fun~at least for me.

What is it about this time of year that makes me want to pull out my knitting and crochet needles and get to work making afghans?

I hope everyone is having a beautiful weekend.

Fall in Taylor's Falls

This past weekend, the hubs and I took an over night trip up to one of the most beautiful places in Minnesota during the fall.
We began our journey on the Minnesota side in Taylor's Falls, on the St. Croix River by climbing the cliffs and watching the cliff climbers on both the Minnesota side and the Wisconsin side.
I made the mistake of wearing my tennis shoes instead of hiking boots, so I did a fair amount of slipping and sliding.  I'll wear them for sure next year.
This was just one of the many trails.
The view from the river trail.
A covered bridge.
I got pretty tired, so Mark suggested we take the river tour on the paddle boat.
Couldn't believe the beautiful colors.  We've been so dry here despite the very wet spring.
Look at that color!!!!!
There were lot's of people kayaking and fishing.  Mark thinks we should definitely considering putting our boat in next year.
I think I agree with him 100 per cent.
Supposed to be great fishing in addition to awesome scenery!

I hope you are enjoying my fall image gallery.
This is a few steps away from where we were staying on the Wisconsin side in St. Croix Falls.
If you enjoyed my little tour, I'd love to hear from you.  I hope everyone is having a glorious Monday.

A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood

Things are splendid here in our neighborhood and are only going to get better.  The weather is warm and the colors are magnificent.  Here's a little taste.  This is the entryway to our complex.
Down the main boulevard.
Outside our front door.
Here's some more.
I miss Mr. Roger's.

I hope everyone is having a glorious day!

What a Cute Pooch

Thought I'd work with Painter 12 today.  I've had it for quite awhile now and have even taken a class on the newest features, but I have to say that I'm a bit frustrated--especially with the clone features.  No doubt I'll figure it out, however, with lot's and lot's of practice.

This sweetie is from an image by Bill Kuffrey posted at www.publicdomainpictures.net, my favorite public domain site. Bill has been gracious enough to allow me to post to my FineArtAmerica Account.  You can find purchase greeting cards and prints here.

We have a beautiful, but warm fall day here in Minnesota.  Next weekend the hubs and I are going up to Taylor's Falls to take lot's of fall pictures and I hope to have some new fall paintings to post.  I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.
