This and That

We are now moving toward "past peak" and most of our leaves are on the ground, but I wanted to post some images now from several moments over the past few months.  It won't be long before I'll be trudging through the snow in an attempt to chronicle our winter months and will hopefully find something worth painting.
It's rather amazing that I now look at things differently with my eyes.  I can see color, light and shadows that might not have been obvious a few months ago.  The hubs has noticed this about me as well.  I seem to be taking more quality images and less of those that I end up sending to the recycle bin.
Being able to manipulate these images with the various programs I now have has really made my art all the more fun~at least for me.

What is it about this time of year that makes me want to pull out my knitting and crochet needles and get to work making afghans?

I hope everyone is having a beautiful weekend.

  1. I haven't been to my blog for a while, as I have been building my website and posting to zazzle. However, I updated it yesterday and came across your post and had to have a peep.

Wow, your paintings are amazing. I really like them. The colours and composition are outstanding. Just beautiful.

    What software do you use?

I have had real problems photographing flowers in my garden to paint, because the weather here in the UK has been terrible. We have had rain and winds for most of the summer.

My roses in particular don't like the rain. They are mostly English roses, and the buds if half open, 'ball' in heavy rain, rot and then fall off.

I expect you have the same problems there too. It is difficult to take Close Ups or Macro pictures when it is windy.

Anyway, I look forward to your next blog, I will be following you.

    Regards

    Sarah

  2. Thank you for replying to my comment.

I use Photoshop CS5 with Alien Skins Snap Art and Akvis Sketch most of the time. I also use Pixel Bender and Toon it sometimes.

I usually end using up more than one for each painting plus, blending modes too. I love them.

I never really have a plan, I just play until I'm happy.

    Thanks again for your support.
